Composite Resin Bonding

Bonding is a form of adhesive sculpting that enables patients with imperfections in their teeth to have more attractive smiles.

Bonding has many applications including to close spaces, change the color of teeth, cover discolorations, repair chips, alter the shape of teeth, give teeth a straight-looking appearance when crooked or out of position and to repair cavities.

First, a solution is painted on the tooth, which creates microscopic pores in the enamel.  A liquid resin is then “flowed” onto the tooth that locks into these pores.  A putty-like composite-resin material is then “cured” with a bright light to a hard, durable finish.  It is polished and smoothed to a life like luster.
